Significant Projects

TKSA has a dedicated development center in Houston, Texas for executing turnkey software development projects. The center is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for development and support of client server software. The major Projects done at the development center are:

eLive Auction

Platform TKSA has developed a 24 hours real-time web based auction platform (eLive). Users can first create an auction with number of lots and items and then send emails to bidders around the world about the auction date and time. On the scheduled date and time, bidders will login to the web site, go to their appropriate auctions and place real-time bids. The bid environment is the same as bids in physical live auctions. The bidder, who places the bid with the maximum amount, wins the bid. Seller has many options to transmit live messages to the bidders. The auction platform was developed on Unix using Java, CGI-PERL, PHP, HTML, DHTML and Oracle.

ePay System

TKSA has also developed a web-based application that facilitates person-to-person money transfer. Users can transfer money via email. Users can transfer money into their ePay account from their bank accounts or from their credit cards. Users can transfer money from their ePay account to other website users or to any other email address. Users can also withdraw money from their ePay account to their bank accounts. This website allows users to make online payment for their auction listing, services, goods and other items. This website also allows users to send invoices to buyers. This website were developed on a Unix platform using CGI_PERL, PHP, HTML, DHTML and Oracle.

DxRx Patient Tracking System

TKSA developed a web-based application for the University of Texas, Dental Branch, Houston. The system was designed to keep track of patient data. The system keeps track of patient demographic data, procedures, diagnosis, physician information etc. The system operates under Windows 95/98/NT/2000. The system was developed using ASP, Java Script, VB Script, ADO, COM, HTML, DHTML, XML and SQL Server 7.0.

Web Based Task Manager

This website was developed for Thinklogic LLC. The objective of this project was to develop a web based task management tool. Using this website, users can create new tasks, assign tasks to individuals, monitor tasks, archive tasks and send tasks through email. This website was developed using ASP and MS SQL Server 2000.

E-Learning System

An E-Learning System was developed by TKSA for Heavy Construction Systems Specialists. The objective of the project was to provide a complete E-Learning System, which enables the training department for quickly creating new training courses, modifying and maintain the contents of the existing training courses, etc. and also allows user to access the system through internet. The E-Learning System consists of mainly two parts:
A Back-end Computer Based Training (CBT) Engine
The back end CBT engine is developed as a client-server module enables training administrators to add/edit/delete contents of CBT data. Once the data is entered, validated, reviewed and approved, the data is sent to
the production database system.
A Front-end E-Learning Web Based Application
The Front-end application generates dynamic web pages using the approved contents of the training courses. The web-based module allows the users to access the front end E-Learning application on the their desktop through any browser using the HCSS website.
The system was developed using ASP, VB, SQL server, HTML, Javascript and DHTML.

Computer Based Training for INOVx

A computer based training (CBT) was developed by TKSA for INOVx Systems The objectives for the CBT were: (i) to train and evaluate the prospective employees to help in the recruitment process; (ii) to train the new employees for using the specialized softwares developed by INOVx. Training courses were developed using multimedia for the softwares like RealityLINx and 3-D PlantLINx. These software are used to generate and utilize the accurate 3-D CAD models of existing plants. The contents for the CBT were stored in database so that the training administrators can quickly creating new training courses, modifying and maintain the contents of the existing training courses, etc. The engine was developed using ASP, VB, SQL server, HTML, Javascript and DHTML.

Palm Mailing Application

TKSA developed a mailing application that runs on Palm. The application was designed to keep tracks of changes in jobs and timesheet database for the field contractors. When a change in the database occurs, the application generates an email using Eudora and synchronizes it with the centralized server using wireless communication. The application was developed using codewarrior on Windows CE platform.

Regression Testing Tools

A set of Regression Testing Tools were developed for testing Software Development Kits (SDKs) containing flexible software modules used for developing clinical information systems. These software modules are extremely powerful development tools that let you easily embed drug knowledge bases and expert drug information into new or existing clinical information systems. Separate testing tools were developed for C++ SDK, COM objects and CORBA Interface in VC++, VB and Java respectively. The regression-testing tool is being used to test the complete behavior of objects. The tools provide the test results in HMTL format.

i-GuideFL.Com

This web site was developed for a client in Florida. I-Guide.com is an innovative web site designed for providing the Internet guidance. Unified Messaging System

This system was developed to enable business to meet their communication needs via a single desktop application. A user can send a fax, e-mail, voice or paging via single application from their desktop. The data sent by users are transmitted via HTTPS to back-end server that processes these messages and sends them to the respective destination worldwide. A vendor that provides communication services does the back end processing. Users are able to select and manage destination address through a phonebook. Phonebook management supports ODBC, LDAP and important options. Security of data transfer is ensured via HTTPS and data encryption. The application was developed using Visual Basic, MS SQL server, Active X controls and Internet technology. Fortune 100 Company is currently using this application with over 10,000 users worldwide.

Web Enabling of Unified Messaging System

A Fortune 100 company is currently implementing unified messaging system developed earlier. Over 10,000 users will use the software worldwide. The product was enhanced to provide the flexibility for any user to access the unified messaging system through the Internet. Web enabling was implemented using Active Server Pages, Java Script and VB Script. The application runs on an IIS server with MS SQL server as the database.

XML Interface for Unified Messaging System

The product was enhanced to enable the user to send XML documents. The existing unified messaging system was enhanced with an XML interface, which allows users to send XML documents to the server via HTTPS. The XML document is parsed using IBM's XML 4J parser. The XML documents are accessed via Java Servlet, running on Apache Tomcat server.

Media Server for Unified Messaging System

The Media Servers are set of server applications that enables point to point faxing, fax broadcasting, voice broadcasting, e-mail to fax and fax to e-mail broadcasting. The server applications are database driven. The application was developed using Visual C++, COM, SQL Server, MS Exchange server, Java Servlet and Windows API. The work also included development of a web server to receive incoming traffic on a secure HTTP connection. The server supports various media incoming modes using HTTPS, modem and e-mail.

Medical Imaging System

This system was developed to provide a Java based Diagnostic Imaging and Communications (DICOM) solution. The system includes receiving DICOM images from various modalities (MRI, CT etc.), validating DICOM formats, storing and retrieving DICOM data, interfacing DICOM data ware house with web server, developing web interfaces to access DICOM image through the web. The system interfaces with the existing Radiology Information System server. The system provides platform independent APIs to enhance the functionality of the DICOM solution, The solution was developed using Java Servlet, Oracle 8i, JDBC, JavaBeans and CORBA.

Interactive Voice Response System

The system helps physician to access the pre-recorded patient diagnostic information stored in a radiology information system, identified by patient-id, through the telephone. The application was developed in VC++ and interfaces with an Oracle database.

eProjx Web Development

This web site was developed for project management company. The web site provides information to client in project management areas like Work Process, Value Engineering, Cost Engineering, Resource Scheduling, Risk Analysis, Training Workshop and Project Execution Planning. Clients use a web site to keep track of the project. The web site was developed using ASP, HTML, DHTML, ActiveX components, VB Script and Java Script.
